Heat Transfer in Three-Dimensional Flow along a Porous Plate
author
Abstract:
An analysis of heat transfer in the flow of a viscous, in-compressible fluid along an infinite porous plate is presented when the plate is subjected to a transverse sinusoidal suction. The flow field becomes three-dimensional due to this type of suction velocity. Expressions for the flow and temperature fields are obtained by series expansion method. It is found during the course of discussion that due to more addition of viscous dissipative heat the temperature in the boundary layer increases or decreases accordingly as E> 0 or E<0.

MHD Three-Dimensional Stagnation-Point Flow and Heat Transfer of a Nanofluid over a Stretching Sheet
In this study, the three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) boundary layer of stagnation-point flow in a nanofluid was investigated. The Navier–Stokes equations were reduced to a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations using a similarity transform. The similarity equations were solved for three types of nanoparticles: copper, alumina and titania with water as the base fluid, to inve...

In this study, a similarity analysis is made for an unsteady two-dimensional MHD free convective and heat transfer flow of a viscous incompressible fluid along a vertical flat plate with internal heat generation/absorption. The governing time-dependent boundary-layer equations are reduced to non-linear ordinary differential equations by introducing a similarity transformation. The obtained simi...
full textFluid Flow and Heat Transfer of Nanofluids over a Flat Plate with Conjugate Heat Transfer
The falling and settling of solid particles in gases and liquids is a natural phenomenon happens in many industrial processes. This phenomenon has altered pure forced convection to a combination of heat conduction and heat convection in a flow over a plate. In this paper, the coupling of conduction (inside the plate) and forced convection of a non-homogeneous nanofluid flow (over a flat plate) ...
full textForced convection boundary layer flow and heat transfer along a flat plate embedded in a porous medium
DURING the past decade, fluid flow and heat transfer through porous media have experienced renewed research interest due to a broad range of applications, including geothermal systems, thermal insulation, metals processing, catalytic reactors, direct-contact heat exchangers, transpiration cooling, filtration, etc. In many practical systems, the porous medium has a high permeability (i.e. the po...
full textNatural convection heat transfer of nanofluids along a vertical plate embedded in porous medium
The unsteady natural convection heat transfer of nanofluid along a vertical plate embedded in porous medium is investigated. The Darcy-Forchheimer model is used to formulate the problem. Thermal conductivity and viscosity models based on a wide range of experimental data of nanofluids and incorporating the velocity-slip effect of the nanoparticle with respect to the base fluid, i.e., Brownian d...
full textThree Dimensional Fluctuating Slip Couette Flow with Heat Transfer through A Porous Channel
In this paper, the work of Guria and Jana [1] is extended to include the slip condition at the lower porous plate. The upper plate is subjected to a constant injection –Vo and the lower plate to a transverse sinusoidal suction velocity distribution, so that the flow becomes three dimensional. Approximate solutions were found for velocity and temperature using regular perturbation techniques. Th...
